TARGET

GEN Brasil divides its potential clients into two segments, based on their experience and knowledge of the Brazilian market:
Companies not yet present in Brazil, or with only occasional sales there: usually these companies are at a preliminary stage, they only want to “test” the Brazilian market, so they prefer to keep a flexible organizational structure. They do not have an internal sales structure dedicated to export and particularly to the Brazilian market. They have limited financial resources to devote to developing a new market

Companies already present in Brazil: these companies have already seen how attractive the market is. They want to be optimally structured to fully meet the needs of the market (e.g. with pre- and after-sales services, with the presence of showrooms and warehouses for the storage of spare parts, etc.). They would like to have a direct local sales management focused on the development of the core business, outsourcing bureaucratic, administrative and logistics activities, to reduce operating costs and make the best use of their staff in Brazil

CLIENTS

GEN Brasil’s clients come from almost every sector, although we have solid experience in the mechanical industry, in the automotive sector, in manufacturing and, of course, in the areas where the “Made in Italy” – fashion, food, cosmetic, mechanical and automation, furniture/design – excels.

Our clients also vary widely in size; they include companies: – of various sizes, who are planning the entry and development in the Brazilian market with a careful analysis of the market, looking for distributors, partners and local facilities; – with less than 100 employees, with their own branch staff and warehouses in Brazil; – with over 100 employees, with a production site in Brazil as well as offices and sales staff

Services not provided by GEN Brasil

Below are some activities we are often asked to perform, but which GEN Brasil is not set up to provide:

pure commercial activity: we do not have agents, representatives or salespeople across Brazil who can carry out pure sales activities and offer client companies’ products to local distributors or retail chain buyers; we are not a sales agency and we never work on commission

business incubator (or commercial support to startups): although we know that some products and services have significant market potential thanks to their quality or innovation, we do not invest in companies that lack the financial resources needed to fund the commercial development of their business in Brazil

activities on “success fees” basis: as a rule we do not provide services paid only on results, which is why all our search activities (partners, distributors, employees, buyers, etc.) require a fee, either monthly or per project, in proportion to the resources we use.

The cost of GEN Brasil services

We cannot quote a standard fee for our services in advance: our proposals are always customized to the expectations and activities required by each client, so there is no fixed price list. Our fee is calculated from a careful analysis of the resources needed to deliver what we commit to in the contract.

GEN Brasil offers many services, both consulting and operational, so its pricing models vary according to the service. Some examples:

pricing on “project”:

This applies to services where we know exactly what resources will be needed; the cost is clearly defined and agreed before the work begins.

Services typically priced per project include feasibility studies and setting up a legal entity.

pricing on “consumption” basis:

This applies to services where the resources needed cannot be known in advance, because some variables cannot be defined beforehand. The cost is based on an hourly or daily rate applied to the resources used; at the end of each month we issue an invoice showing the hours worked, and every week we report the activities that will be billed. The contract may set a monthly spending cap, beyond which we must ask the client for approval.

Typical examples are setting up a production unit, or commercial development through a GEN Brasil sales manager (meaning identifying and contacting qualified trade partners who may seriously consider the product or service).

pricing on “rent” basis:

This applies to services where we know exactly what resources will be needed over a period of time; the cost is clearly defined, agreed before the work starts and paid monthly.

Typical examples are managing administrative activities and logistics.

There are no “on commission” or “success” fees, as GEN Brasil does not provide sales activities on behalf of its clients.

PARTNERSHIP

Over the years GEN Brasil has developed agreements with companies providing highly specialized services that are essential for businesses starting to internationalize. These services are:

Other partnerships
  • certifications, labeling and adapting of production processes for the export of food: these services allow food companies to have guidelines to fully comply with the regulations for export to Brazil, for all food products from Italy. Any food product shipped from Italy that is not fully compliant is likely to be rejected or destroyed.

  • business due diligence & corporate intelligence: these services are aimed at the analysis (screening) of the reliability, economic / equity robustness and reputation of third parties (individuals and companies) with which the client is considering embarking on a partnership or a collaboration, even temporarily. Knowing your business partners is the first step towards a successful strategy, particularly when it comes to companies and people, both geographically and culturally, “distant”.

  • organization of trade fairs and design of exhibition systems: fairs are one of the most important promotional and commercial activities for companies seeking to enter and expand in Brazil; you must then rely on specialized partners, able to design and create any type of display system. This requires specific know-how, organization and timeliness.

  • funding for the internationalization of your company through a process of crowdfunding: Equity Crowdfunding is an alternative to bank credit and to the institutional means for raising capital to finance useful projects of development of an enterprise; Italian unlisted SMEs can now also raise funds from the public by selling shares in the company through authorized online platforms.
